November Skies

Weather conditions in late fall produce some of the most brilliant sunrises and sunsets of the year. Unfortunately, I don’t have optimal panoramic views close to home and don’t prepare for the events as I should. More often than not, I get a peek at the spectacle rather than a photo. Case in point: this evening, while walking my dog without a camera, I was completely lost in the beauty of a flock of geese flying to roost, with an orange sky and illuminated clouds as a backdrop. That experience inspired me to post a November sunrise.

  1. Although I travel with a pocket camera to try and capture those elusive pics I usually see mine while driving along a road with oncoming traffic and a couple of tailgaters pushing me or there is no space to pull off the road. Wish I had a camera mounted on the roof of my car. Amazing how the coldest weather brings out the warmest colors – this reminds me a nice cozy fireplace.

    • A cozy fireplace – I like that thought, especially with the temperature falling to about 10 below zero tonight! You’re so right about the traffic issue too; in some of my favorite haunts, avoiding traffic can be a much greater challenge than capturing a quality image. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment.
