    • The colors work for me too. I have many images of the GS but when I’m searching for something special, this one always makes the final cut. Yes, I believe shifting Hardiness zones are a factor with respect to recent (last 5 years) sightings of the species in this region. Older field guides/maps show the northern limit of its range to be just south of me and refer to it as “rare and local in the Northeast”.

  1. Ooh I saw them while I was visiting Seneca at the beginning of the month. I am planning on putting my photos up of the ones I saw in the next week or two.

    I am used to seeing them in Oregon/Washington where I live, but my Grandparents were very surprised to see them at the lake.

    I love the purple and yellow, great photograph.
