Winter Birds: Shades of Gray

Small flocks of Slate-colored Juncos are an integral part of the winter landscape, especially around backyard feeders. They’re often the first to arrive at a feeder in the morning – when there’s just enough light to see breakfast!

    • Thanks!! My thoughts exactly. I’m setting up for some backyard bird photography and my first experiment/challenge was to try and capture a junco in an interesting composition, with a reasonable balance of lights and darks. Too many deletes, but I think I’ll eventually get what I want. Hopefully, neither hell or I freeze before that happens. 🙂
