Snow and Ice…Finally!

Christmas Eve was a snow-free, 60 degree day. I found a wood tick crawling on my ear after a hike. Unprecedented. My morale was falling as quickly as the Syracuse records for snow fall and temperature. Fact of the matter is, snow and ice are the foundation for much of my winter recreation. I have a wardrobe and gear to prove it! Things just weren’t quite right …until recently. A bit of snow and a combination of ice and frost along a tiny, seasonal stream drew me out of my cave, camera in tow.

  1. It is amazing that sometimes we need to look down rather than up and around to see the beauty of a winters day. Very nice.
