The maple-dominated woodlands of Central New York have been beautiful this week! Sugar Maple and associated deciduous trees are presenting their true colors in a flaming palette of warm and vibrant colors.

How fortunate to live where autumn brings such a rich palette of colours. Here in Alberta we’re limited mostly to shades of yellow and orange on the poplars. Thanks for sharing the bright possibilities of living elsewhere. 🙂
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed the colors. You might not have the variety of deciduous species, but I think the extensive, ancient clones of poplars framed in green compensate nicely!
You’re right … they are gorgeous. And it’s neat to watch them change at entirely different times.
Yes, the colors have been beautiful this year and your photos capture them nicely. Even the rain today is making the colors even more rich. The sunrise this morning(before the rain) added a beautiful glow as well.
These are all beautiful shots, but I keep looking at the first one thinking it could have been painted that way by some heavenly artist.
Thanks Hien!
Such beautiful colors! 😊
Thank you!
Amazing Pictures. I’ll be posting some fall pictures soon enough. I still have catching up to do on my blog.
Stunning color and photography!
The contrast of blue sky with white puffy clouds as background for the orange trees is stupendous!
I was tripping all over myself when I saw that scene materialize…the clouds were moving quickly, west to east, not giving me much time to react. 🙂
So, I’d say that scramble makes it all the more precious!
Hi Nick – great photos – as always!!! Especially love the yellow maple with the puffy clouds.
I also have gone crazy photographing this season – stopping constantly to get a few more shots. My poor camera is on overload!
Thanks, Anita
Thanks Anita. It changed too quickly – I had much unfinished business afield! Looking forward to seeing your fall portfolio.
