While digging out from the third Nor’easter in two weeks, my thoughts drift to recent wildlife sightings and survival in the wild. Hooded Mergansers are popping up wherever surface waters are free of ice and seem to be weathering the storms well.

I thought I was seeing two different kinds of ducks the other day! LOL! I did wonder why they are always seen together. These photos are wonderful.
🙂
Beautiful! In Europe you only find them in Ireland and UK. In Germany they are not wild.
Thank you. And, I appreciate your comments on Europe — I’m not always mindful of what’s going on in the rest of the world! BTW – love your blog and your narratives on the natural world.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Nick. It means a lot for me because I know my English could be better and I am very happy to receive such a positive comment of a english native speaker! 🙂
I do love the hoodies and your images show them off so well! The first female has quite the punk hairdo. Your region certainly seems to be getting more than its share of Nor’easters. Hang in there and I think we’re all hoping for a break. Spring is supposed to be just around the corner.
